Our Ethos

Owning and training dogs are more than a hobby for me - it's a way of life and at Dugs Paws we are dog lovers first. We therefore believe that training should cause no harm or any undue stress to the dog.

Our strategies include different training environments and using the ‘PRAMA’ methods (Positive Reinforcement and Minimally Aversive) - as we believe that every dog is different and encourage learning experiences using positive reinforcement and the power of play. I also believe dogs require leadership and guidance and should not be treated as babies.

I do my best to always offer honest, non-judgmental, informed advice and try to avoid using ‘jargon’ industry experts often use that may be confusing. I work with you at your own pace; as each dog is as individual as their owner, - there is no one-size-fits-all training method!

Rest assured that your dogs are in the best possible care! Dugs Paws are fully insured and first aid trained and are continuously learning, doing our very best to stay up to date with the latest practical and theoretical knowledge of dog behaviour.

I’ve since also taken part in behavioural courses so that we can better support the dogs and their humans.
